... wish i was around to view daniel buren's peinture-sculpture at the guggenheim. sadly, this controversial piece was removed before its official opening in 1971... (and why again?)
hmm. i'm curious to know, too, why it's considered controversial. ok, i just read that it was blocking the views of other artworks. without seeing what the space was like, i wonder whether viewers couldn't simply walk around to view the other works. anyway, this piece is quite striking in its economy and imposing size.
